KIRKING OF THE TARTANS SUNDAY

7:00 PM - HISTORIC LARLEE CREEK CHURCH

As the crowds disperse and the community settles, here’s your chance to come together in honor of the heritage and traditions of our past – the Kirking of the Tartans - a nondenominational service of remembrance, song and quiet thoughts.  This building takes us back to another time – so long ago, when the early settlers sat in these same old pine pews gathering strength to build a better life for themselves and their families.  Many of them rest here today, in the cemetery that surrounds the church.  A lone Bagpiper will introduce the evening . . . I wonder if they will hear?

As a way to close each year’s festival and acknowledge those that came long before us to this land, we make the Sunday evening pilgrimage to the ancient Larlee Creek Church in Lower Perth for the Kirking of the Tartans – a unique and special service celebrating culture, heritage, and traditions.  Scotland’s own Danny McLardy and David Calder will take you back – way back to the lands of our ancestors.  Bring a piece of tartan to be blessed – any plaid will do! It’s the thought that counts!

 And what a deal!

Admissions for this all-day event are only $15

adults, $5 students, and under 12 free!
